Rewarding our Members for their Loyalty
When you use your VIP Checking account, Northern Star Credit Union rewards you with monthly benefits for your loyalty. In order to receive your monthly benefits, we ask that you:
- Have at least 12 debit card purchases post and clear (ATM usage does not count toward the 12 purchases)
- Have 1 Automatic Payment or Direct Deposit post and clear
- Receive your account statement electronically
- Valid email address required for electronic statement qualification
If for some reason you are unable to fulfill these requests in any particular month, there is no maintenance fee, but you will not receive the benefits for that particular statement cycle.
Any of our Northern Star accounts can be accessed free online through e-Branch, with our mobile app. VIP accounts are interest bearing, check our rates page for the latest information. Membership required. If the requirements for your VIP Checking account are not met for an extended period of time, Northern Star Credit Union may elect to close your VIP Checking account and transfer the funds to a standard checking account.
Signing up for a Northern Star savings account takes about fifteen minutes, and can be done online or at any one of our branch locations. If you have any further questions concerning this service, or any of our other services, please contact us.
Please be advised, if you plan to leave the country and/or make transactions outside of your home state, you must give Northern Star Credit Union notice prior to your intent to use your VISA Credit Card. To avoid possible disruption in your debit card service, be sure to log into e-Branch, click the preferences link on the side menu, and opt-in your checking account. If you prefer signing a hard copy and bringing it by one of our branches, you may also use the opt-in form.
Debit card and credit card processing is done through Vantiv, a partner with Northern Star Credit Union. Vantiv may call or text you regarding security matters or suspicious activity with your card. They may go over a list of purchases you have recently made with your plastic cards, however they will never ask for any personal information such as PINs, account numbers, passwords, or other private information. Vantiv may ask for the last four digits of your social security number or your address to verify your identity when they call you.
